Traveling has always been a huge passion of mine, and with the addition of 4 dogs, it's made family vacations a little harder. Luckily, we have been able to stay at some amazing Airbnbs all around the US that let us bring our dogs with! Here are some of the coolest places we've stayed at, and some that we still have to check of our bucket-list!
1. Yonder - Escalante, Utah
We just got back from a Utah roadtrip and this was by far one of the best airbnb's we stayed at. And dogs were allowed basically everywhere (except in the pool and bathhouses). We stayed in one of their cabins, but they also have decked out airstreams, as well as campsites for you to park your RV or pitch your own tent.
It really gives a vintage upscale glamping vibe and has such cool amenities, like the drive in movie theater, camp fire starter pack, food truck, and luxurious outdoor showers. We originally found them on Airbnb, but ended up booking through their own website!
2. TreeHouse Mountain - Copperhill, Tennessee
This Stamish Castle was one of the best Airbnb's we've ever stayed at! We were able to bring all four of our dogs with no extra fee, and they had their own friendly great dane puppy on the property. It books up quick, but the great thing is that they have 3 other treehouses on the property as well!
It's tucked away in the Chattahoochee National Forest, which has a ton of dog friendly trails to check out! The treehouse was stocked with a lofted full sized bed that you have to use a ladder to get to, along with a pull out. Plus, this place comes with an amazing fire pit to hang around and relax at the end of the night.
3. Modern Farm Style Guest House - Olympia, Washington
We got to stay at this beautiful guest house while we were touring through the Pacific Northwest. The house itself was something right out of a Magnolia catalogue, and the property was absolutely gorgeous. The owners live in the main house on the property, and were very friendly and accommodating to everything we needed.
The dogs got to witness goats for the first time, and there was a great big yard for them to play with. The inside of the house had multiple beds, a projector, and even a foosball table - perfect for a whole family trip!
4. Forest Haven Tiny House - Millersburg, OH
We just added this to our trip list on Airbnb! It's a tiny home made of a shipping container that has an outdoor shower, natural gas fire pit, outdoor soaking tub, and lounging area.
The location is close to the city, but deep enough in the woods that you get a real out-in-nature feel. The owner's have a several different treehouse and tiny home propoerties all throughout the Ohio area. We've booked it as a pitstop on our way to the East coast this October!
5. Mountain View Glamping Dome - Fairview, North Carolina
We've never staid in a dome style airbnb before, but this is at the top of the list! I love the idea that you can see out the huge windows right at nature and up at the sky at night.
6. Angel's Landing A-Frame - Zion, Utah
This is a spot I wish I had discovered earlier, but it's definitely going to be my go-to next time I go to Zion! The view looks absolutely amazing, and the A-frame has a convertible door that opens up to the great outdoors. It has a firepit, grill, and all the amenities for the ultimate glamping experience.
7. Niksen House: Scandanvian style Cabin - Mt. Hood, Oregon
This beautiful cabin is located right outside Mt.Hood, making it a great place to check out the forest, go skiing, and is only an hour away from Portland, Oregon. It sits on a half acre lot for an off-the-grid feel, and has plenty of space for your dogs to explore.
The cabin is recently renovated with modern updates, including a smart TV, jetted tub, and full sized kitchen appliances.
7. Eagle Peak Cabin - Pagosa Springs, CO
If you've ever been to Colorado, you know how expensive dog friendly places can get. But just near the Southern border by Pagosa Springs, this cabin is tucked away, ready for you and your pups! The huge glass windows lets in tons of natural light, and you'll feel nice and secluded among the trees.
8. Dark Sky View Cabin - Florissant, CO
Another great option if you're headed to Colorado is this Cabin in Florrissant, Colorado. It's closer to Colorado Springs and Denver so it's the better option if you're driving through that way or wanting to explore those cities a bit. Not only is it right near BLM land, it is close to Mueller State Park, the Crags, Pike's Peak, and tons of outdoor adventures. You won't find better views of the milky way and the mountains that this Airbnb!
9. Lakeside Tent at Ramsden Lake - Stone Mountain, GA
This luxurious camping tent is another spot on our list for if we ever make it down to Georgia with the dogs! It's the perfect getaway from Atlanta, and right next to a privately owned lake. There's also an indoor fireplace, hiking trails all around, and paddle boards, kayaks and canoes for your to use. They have a few different properties around here including a tree top tent as well.
10. Mojave Fleur - Joshua Tree, CA
For the dessert dwellers, this house is surrounded by sweeping views of the Joshua Tree Highlands. Just a short distance from the actual national park itself, this two bedroom home has three decks, a spa, fireplace, and outdoor soaking tub. The perfect place for stargazing with your dogs and cozying up inside with deluxe pillows and bedding.
When checking out dog friendly airbnbs, always make sure to check the house rules and listing description to see how many dogs you can bring, what size dogs they allow, and if there is a pet fee. Also, make sure you let your host know before booking that you'll be coming with your fur-babies. When we go on trips, our dogs are typically pretty good at staying off furniture, but we always make sure to bring and extra set of non fitted sheets to put over the couches and bed while we're gone to make sure our super shedders don't damage their furniture.
This looks so cool and very fun to take my dogs to!
Adding all of these spots to my bucket list now! Have been searching for destinations I can bring my best friend 🐾. Just in time for an end of summer trip too!
